We're thrilled to announce that Eco Brixs has been recognised for a second award in the space of just a few weeks, following our win of Uganda's Environmental Sustainability Award in June.
This week, Eco Brixs has been voted East Africa's 'Best Plastic Waste Recycling Non-Profit Organisation' at the Non-Profit Organisation Awards 2023. This is in recognition of our work to build a unique circular business model in Uganda, recycling hundreds of tonnes of plastic waste and simultaneously creating job opportunities for marginalised communities.
The panel of business experts judging the awards especially liked Eco Brixs' community-driven approach, our development of 18 innovative Eco-Products (each made from 100% plastic waste), and how we run education programmes alongside the recycling operation.
The Non-Profit Awards are hosted by Acquisition International, which is a worldwide digital magazine that focuses on developments in the modern business world. They run the awards to recognise and promote the commitment, innovation, and determination of the best NPOs from across the world, who are using innovation to solve the world's problems.
We're thrilled to be recognised in the business world as a leader in innovation for our work to tackle plastic pollution and create jobs for marginalised people, and we can't wait to see what else happens over the next half of 2023!
