This year has been a hugely successful one for Eco Brixs. We’ve recycled almost twice as much plastic as in 2022, recycling over 275 tonnes of plastic waste. Furthermore, due to Eco Brixs’ circular model where people are paid for plastic, we’ve simultaneously been able to support 3,000 marginalised people with accessible green jobs.
In 2024, we’re aiming to make an even bigger impact. We’re currently fundraising to replicate our model across Southern Uganda to districts such as Mbarara, Kabale and Fort Portal. These regions currently have no recycling infrastructure and are experiencing widespread unemployment.
