Thank you for your support in 2024 to recycle more plastic and create more green jobs than ever before 🤝
As the year comes to a close and people begin to wind down for the holidays, we wanted to take this opportunity to say a HUGE THANK YOU for your support in 2024!
Eco Brixs has made huge strides this year and we couldn't have done it without your support. Whether you've donated, purchased Eco-Products, used our carbon/plastic offset programme, promoted our work to your network, or simply read this newsletter each month, we really appreciate it.
From Andy, Gee, Fr James, our trustees and the whole Eco Brixs team in Masaka, we wish you a peacful and relaxing holiday season!
FOUR TIMES MORE IMPACT IN 2024 📈
We’ve come a long way over 2024, further than we anticipated at the start of the year!
In 2023 we recycled 288 tonnes of plastic across the year, a record for Eco Brixs at the time. However in 2024, we’ve surpassed that to create an even bigger enivironmental impact - recycling 1,226 tonnes of plastic.
And as we pay the community for every tonne of plastic they bring to us, this has also meant a massive jump in our economic impact. In 2023, we’ve paid out $47,670 for plastic across the year, whereas in 2024 we’ve paid (a staggering) $236,189 for plastic waste.
This growth means Eco Brixs now supports 4,615 marginalised people with plastic collection jobs, which has increased from 3,000 people this time last year.
This has been possible thanks to the support of our partners who have helped us to expand our circular model across Southern Uganda to districts such as Mbarara, Fort Portal and Kalangala.
Next year, we're aiming to continue growing our model across Southern Uganda, empowering new communities to recycle and access livelihoods, which will also include Eco Brixs working in Uganda's refugee settlements for the first time. If you'd like to help support these plans for 2025, you can donate here.
