Ugandan man, called Tutwin Path, in white shirt stands outdoors on a sunny day, with trees and buildings in the background. Dry, dusty ground and a blue sky.

In Bulando village, Masaka City, a quiet revolution is unfolding—one plastic bottle at a time. At just 34, Tutwine Omugwinyi is turning plastic waste into opportunity, becoming an inspiration in his community.

🌱 A New Beginning

Tutwine’s journey with Eco Brixs began in February 2025, during a challenging chapter of his life. A newcomer to Masaka, with little more than determination and a family of seven depending on him, he faced financial hardship and post-pandemic uncertainty.

“Life was hard,” Tutwine recalls, “but my brother-in-law introduced me to Eco Brixs, and everything started to change.”

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Providing for Family

With four young children—aged nine, six, four, and two—Tutwine’s mission was urgent: to secure their education, nutrition, and healthcare. The lingering effects of COVID-19 had already delayed his eldest son’s schooling. Through plastic collection, Tutwine now ensures all his children are back in school, with fees paid, lunches packed, and medical needs covered.

“Never despise any kind of work,” Tutwine advises. “What you overlook today might become the game-changer, even more than those white-collar jobs you are desperately chasing without any guarantee.”

💡 Empowering Communities

Tutwine’s story exemplifies Eco Brixs’ belief in circular economies as a catalyst for community empowerment. Sustainability isn’t just an environmental concept—it’s a lifeline for families, a pathway to education, and a spark for economic inclusion.

⭐️ Why It Matters

His journey reflects the transformative power of locally led recycling initiatives. When community members are empowered to participate in sustainable practices, impact becomes both personal and generational. Eco Brixs continues to champion grassroots change, turning waste into value—and individuals into change-makers.
